NEW Leadership Illinois
NEW Leadership Illinois is a non-partisan, week-long residential program for college women designed to increase women’s representation in all elements of public life, including elected office. NEW Leadership Illinois is a joint initiative of the  Institute of Government and Public Affairs at the University of Illinois and the  Conference of Women Legislators of the Illinois General Assembly . NEW Leadership Illinois has been developed in partnership with the  NEW Leadership Development Network  established by the Center for American Women and Politics, a unit of the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. The network includes 14 states and the District of Columbia.

COWL has been recognized by numerous organizations for its strong efforts to protect women, children and families.

Bi-annual Retreat
