COWL Scholarship Awards Program
COWL Scholarships are for women 25 years of age or older, who are Illinois residents, with plans to attend an accredited school in Illinois for at least six semester hours, either on-campus or online. COWL endeavors to support women of all income levels who, for various reasons, have not had the opportunity to begin or complete their education.

Mentoring
COWL sponsors the Girls Scouts as their little sister organization. “Troop COWL” was established as a resource for scout leaders and young scouts to consider the opportunities available in government service.

NEW Leadership Illinois
NEW Leadership Illinois is a nonpartisan, week-long residential program for college women designed to increase women’s representation in all elements of public life, including elected office. NEW Leadership Illinois is a joint initiative of the  Institute of Government and Public Affairs at the University of Illinois and the  Conference of Women Legislators of the Illinois General Assembly. NEW Leadership Illinois has been developed in partnership with the  NEW Leadership Development Network  established by the Center for American Women and Politics, a unit of the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
